In the first picture the white bracelet becomes more of a grey tint against the white folder. In the second picture the white headphones also have a hint of grey as well as parts of the folder have hint of grey and bluish tones.
It is natural that seeing comes before words. We recognize things first before we put a word to it. I find it very interesting and pretty fascinating that the way we see things affects what we believe or what we know. Each person perceives things differently and that has an affect because two people may look at a painting and have totally different outcomes. But with two totally different outcomes it causes conversation and helps people view things in ways they may never had, had viewed it before. Even though the article states that when images are presented as a work of art, people have a pre notion of what to except or learnt assumption of art. But in my opinion I believe that even though people may have pre assumptions of art works, it still can change once that person actually physically sees the actual artwork. After watching the video I was intrigued by what John Berger said, “Perspective makes the eye the center of the visible world…” Th...
Right before Thanksgiving break I attended an event at Loyola, which discussed an innovative art project hosted by Joyce Yu-Jean Lee. Ms. Lee is an artist who is based in NYC working with video, installations and performances. Her main medium is creating tech-based art based off of how culture shapes truth and portraying contemporary enlightenment. Her work has been shown globally and published in several high powering magazines and newspapers. This particular event showcased Ms. Lee’s work with FIREWALL. This project is lead by three talented artists who set out to engage others in dialogue about Internet freedom, through pop up Internet cafes. Firewall is an interactive art and research project that sets up shop and invites people to look at online censorship in other countries specifically China through the search engine Baidu. Baidu is just like Google, but the Chinese version and is much more censored and controlled by the government...
After reading the Postmodernism article, I was confused because I did not first understand what the article was about, I knew it had to deal with postmodernism artists but I felt like I had to re read it in order to truly understand in what I thought the article meant. After re reading the article five times I came to the conclusion and found postmodernism to be very interesting and how it compared postmodern artists to explorers. I found this to be interesting because postmodern artists are trying to create what they see around them and what is new and changing and what is in and what is out. They are creating new symbols, and messages in order to keep up with the changing times and which best represents reflects the surroundings around them and what people want to see or here. But I questioned should artists keep up with the postmodern world and not create the past in order for others to view past history and instead create new history? Should postmo...
