Firewall- Event Presentation 1
Right before Thanksgiving break I attended an event at Loyola, which discussed an innovative art project hosted by Joyce Yu-Jean Lee. Ms. Lee is an artist who is based in NYC working with video, installations and performances. Her main medium is creating tech-based art based off of how culture shapes truth and portraying contemporary enlightenment. Her work has been shown globally and published in several high powering magazines and newspapers. This particular event showcased Ms. Lee’s work with FIREWALL. This project is lead by three talented artists who set out to engage others in dialogue about Internet freedom, through pop up Internet cafes. Firewall is an interactive art and research project that sets up shop and invites people to look at online censorship in other countries specifically China through the search engine Baidu.
